I've spent more than 30 years as a professional speaker and event professional.

Marriage and funeral celebrancy:

I became a marriage celebrant many years ago at the request of a family member who wanted me to lead their ceremony. I discovered I loved creating rituals for this milestone, and I've been marrying couples ever since.

Some years later, my celebrant trainer and mentor, Sally Cant, kept tapping me on the shoulder with a quiet "you'd be a wonderful funeral celebrant." That whisper eventually became a roar I couldn't deny. Through her training I discovered a deep passion for helping families understand their options and create ceremonies that truly honour their person - leaving no regrets.

Just a week after I finished training, a dear friend's husband died after years of illness, and she asked me to be the funeral celebrant. With Sally's support I created a ceremony I'll always cherish - deeply personal, and deeply difficult. It was a gift to me, really: it cemented my path in this work.

I am now the Director of the Celebrants Training College and founder of Death Care Circle - a community for those working in death and dying.

I also completed certification as an End of Life Doula, which allows me to support individuals and those close to them through one of life’s most profound transitions. I empower people to make meaningful end of life arrangements on their terms and timeline.

Whether I'm helping a couple celebrate, support a family farewell someone they love, or assisting a person get their affairs in order ahead of time, the heart of it is the same - making time, holding space, and helping people mark what matters, on their own terms.
